Don Hall, Jr. came to work full time at Colonial Electric in the summer of 1985. Don, whose nickname is J.R., started out as a laborer working his way into his current position as Project Manager. In his role as field personnel he ran many projects including housing projects for U.S. Homes. He also worked on many townhome and multi-family homes.
J.R. also spent a brief time helping to start Colonial Electric’s Service Department before he moved into his current position. With twenty-four years of experience in the electrical industry he continues to strive to make each project better than the last, he is always looking to improve. With this longevity at Colonial Electric, J.R. was awarded the Don Hall, Sr. Memorial award a few years ago, for twenty years of service with Colonial. This award is named after J.R.’s father who also was a long time dedicated worker with Colonial.
One thing that is special to J.R. is community involvement and charity work. He has volunteered his time for the past three years on the IEC Continuing Education Committee and has repeatedly served as a judge for the local and state competition. He also is very involved in the Center for Applied Technology, every year he conducts mock interview with the students to prepare them for the working world. He is a member of the Craft Advisory Board for Anne Arundel County Schools. These are just a few of the activities in which J.R. donates his time on a regular basis.
