Mitchell Swerbilow began his career out of high school in 1971, where he completed a four year apprenticeship program, graduating top in his class. Mr. Swerbilow worked for many different electrical companies early in his career, including Colonial Electric. Mitchell was able to broaden his knowledge in the electrical field and ultimately start his own business, American Electric, in 1983.
Mr. Swerbilow has successfully completed a wide array of projects, including an aircraft hanger, residential high rise apartment buildings, baseball fields, office buildings, custom residential homes, restaurants, warehouses, and schools.
Mitchell is very involved with the Chesapeake Independent Electric Contractors Association and has served at all board positions including President for 2 years. He was also chairperson of the Apprenticeship Committee for the Associated Builders and Contractors Association.
Mitchell holds a Masters Electricians License in Maryland. Through the years he has completed hundreds of hours of continuing education classes to remain current with the National Electrical Code.
Mitchell rejoined Colonial Electric in August 2008 as a Project Manager, and successfully transitioned all of his employees into the ranks of Colonial Electric.
